I was trying to follow a link to a pdf on https://universal.ch/ and it didn’t work, so went to have a look and the website has been updated with....apparently something is coming soon! There’s not much to see at the moment but if you find your way to the collections they have left some little nuggets of information. Has anyone heard anything? I’m guessing at a launch at Baselworld.
I noticed this as well the other day. Basel seems like the most likely time we'll get some more information.
Please oh please - let it be a faithful, reasonably priced reissue of a Nina, Evil Nina or a Tri-Compax....
Nothing new and garish with the latest UG logo slapped on it is going anywhere near my wrist. As others have mentioned elsewhere in this sub forum; a NOS fire sale of Polerouter crowns, solid gold buckles and some Space Compax pushers are what the people (me) really want. On recent form, I fear instead that we get some 90s-style licensed retreads of seminal UG references - a Seb Vettel Compax, anyone? A Superbowlrouter?
Being a polerouter fan I’m hoping they release watches with movements that are similar to the calibers listed on their website, will make my life easier getting spares! Aside from that I would have thought that a relaunch would provoke interest in the older watches and perhaps give a bump to prices.
If they choose to go along with the same idea Omega had with their 60th anniversary Speedy and build a faithful Polerouter-reedition… I'm interested!
So nothing at Baselworld 2019 - I just shot them an email to ask if there are any launches for 2019. Fingers crossed! 2019 would be a good year to reboot considering this year would be their 125th anniversary.
re-issuing some of the old 60s uni-compax/compax/tri compax/aero compax would be a big money spinner. not sure why they have not ...
