I'm fed up with the misuse of the word 'Compax / Tri-Compax' I found this document I thought I'd share. I hope some of you find this handy..

 

It's become one of my pet peeves to see people describe Valjoux 72 chronos as having a "tri-compax layout." Takes a lot to not call them out every time.

 

I know, it's a silly argument to engage in but it's frustrating.

 

I guess the only time it really bothers me is when it's used incorrectly in an article by an "expert." That only multiplies the effect, because readers then start using it incorrectly on forums, in conversations, etc.

I've always found LouS' thread informative and entertaining due to the images. Maybe these two threads can be merged and made into a sticky for the benefit of current and future members?
