Its mine so I can be rude about it...

    P7150003-001.jpg

Plots are messy and incomplete, bezel is shagged out, (too many eyes?) the subdial hands are a mess and the alpha are later service. (note the square end lume inserts).

All is forgiven of course by the presence of the lollipop.

And the fact that in spite of all its flaws, it is attractive, wearable, and not so valuable as to avoid my wrist.

In these days of uncertainty, this is exactly the watch that gets overvalued by the naive, and ignored by collectors as not being good enough. I take the view that everything has a price. You just have to pay the right price, and a watch can give years of pleasure even with defects.

I use the same approach. If it is not a fake or a redial and I like it, and I am going to wear it, I get it. It does not have to be pristine and cost $10.000. I am not an investor, I just love the omegas ;)

Your description is spot on but sounds a bit harsh. Lovely watch for daily wear as you say. I would be very happy to wear that. Dibs?

I love it! All the incorrectness are its wrinkles of time that tell its story of the last 53+ years of service.

OP I share the same philosophy, so what if it isn't pristine, I buy and wear a watch to enjoy it. For me the movement is more important than how many scratches a case has.

Like the watch and the philosophy. There's something especially pleasing about the degree of wear to the bezel and yet it remains perfectly legible. To me this is similar to the appearance of an unmessed-with military 'antique' - e.g. a aeroplane component - where how it looks is testament to a particular and intriguing 'story'.

Sure. Running to Christie's to get big bucks in next auction.

Compared with the recent $9k eBay bezel, this one's "near-mint"!

Awesome! Just the right amount of wear and patina to give it a wonderful look, but not too much so it looks damaged or tired.

If I could only have one and the choice was between a collector example, or one such as this, I'd go with the latter. Collectors grade watches are great, as long as you've got others to wear the hell out of!

My thoughts exactly. I understand that these types will not appreciate as quickly as better examples, but these you can actually enjoy regularly on the wrist!
