    Hi guys

Was attending a local auction today and after a quick look at the offered watches (was pure crap) I decided to leave. Then a guy showed up on the fron desk right next to me and I noticed a glance of what could be a nice jumbo Omega bumper.
A few minutes of soft chat, and we had a deal :).

I have been looking for a nice SS jumbo bumper for a while and this one was to charming to deny.
Everything looked good to me but I noticed that the crystal is not original after I got home.
Here are some very fresh shots with the new strap. Let me know what you think and I hope you enjoy the photos.

    Ref. 2494/2657

    Cheers, Kapka

The overall watch looks pretty nice but I'd be more concerned about the missing hour marker at 5 'o clock than the unoriginal glass.

And for a jumbo dial that's not likely to be easily found. :(

My day just got ruined :(. Should not be completely impossible but I agree with you. Not an easy task.

Maybe some of the other jumbo models index will fit, like ck 2639 or similar. In that case it would be a lot easier. Does anyone know if these indexes are specifically designed for Jumbo bumper dials?? Appreciate any help here.

Enjoy it - it’s a very nice watch. The right marker replacement will come along eventually.

If it is any consolation, I bought a Seamaster that was a missing black onyx at the one indice about 14 months ago. I hadn't noticed it on purchase either. It soon bugged me to no end. I was lucky, it came on a BoR bracelet. I kept that, reposted the watch, head only, on the bay for the same price, disclosing the missing onyx, and kept the bracelet for the cost of my eBay and PayPal fees. It happens, we NOOBs just need to develop a more discerning eye and not get overly excited by every opportunity to purchase a vintage watch. Now if I could only follow my own advice. LOL Beautiful watch. I hope you locate that missing indice soon.

P.S. Don't kick your own @ss too hard, I bet most everyone here has a similar story

Lol, that’s a good story but still an onyx is kind of ok to miss. I’m just embarrassed that I could miss a huge empty space at 5 a clock ::shy::.
Looking at the photos now, that missing index is all I can see. I will blame it on the scotch last night and terrible migraine this morning.

But one thing is clear, It will not happen again :D (I hope). Anyhow, still good investments and very happy with the watch. Thanks for the support!!!
It is a part of my bumper small family now.

The index need not be longer on the bigger dial - indizes are often the same on dials of different diameter - at least on 30 Rg chronometers as far as I have noticed...
Just give it a try - Seamasters are not that rare... I am sure you will find a watch with a far gone dial where you can "collect" the needed index

Already on ebay looking. Actually, I wouldn’t mind even if it is 1-2mm shorter but exactly same design. That would’ve been just fine and far better than missing one.
Funny thing is that the radium dot is still there below the missing index :)

If anyone is sitting on a spare dial and a few extra indexes, please let me know!!

    Thanks, Kapka

I think most people avoid buying watches with missing applied hour markers so you may well get lucky ;) :p

Are you sure that missing marker is NOT (still) inside the watch?
