Uncommon Vintage Rolex Swiss Made *14k* Yellow Gold 16mm Buckle

On offer here is a genuine vintage Swiss-made Rolex Buckle in uncommon 14 karat Yellow Gold and 16mm width. This was likely made for the American market and the buckle also has a “Depose” marking contained within the rear nomenclature, which indicates that the design was still proprietary to Rolex when this buckle was manufactured. I would guess based on these interesting characteristics that this buckle dates to the 1950s, maybe early 1960s. Rare in 14k, this buckle is suitable for a variety of classic Rolex models in gold from that era and after, particularly those containing 14k components, such as Datejusts, GMTs and, dare I say it, your “John Player” Daytona chronographs.

This buckle is in Excellent overall vintage condition, with some signs of wear and age but no major defects. The nomenclature on the underside has only light wear and clearly reads “DEPOSE” “SWISS”, the encircled “ROLEX S.A.” and “585” for the gold content.
