Just happened to have a few extra beds with en suite bathrooms in a beautiful lakeside condo that resides "purt near" dead center of the total solar eclipse next August 21, 2017!

I'm spearheading a '60's hippie Woodstock extravaganza for the magical event that will be included in the deluxe package!

What would it take for just enough space to pitch a tent? Could I interest you in maybe a one of a kind custom Seiko wrist alarm? :whistling:

Interesting, very interesting indeed. Ms JIO retires in early August, she's always wanted to visit the USA aside from NYC etc (been there) and she's interested in nature and the stars etc.

I'll have to see if I can talk her into it. :D

Unfortunately I can't contribute any watch pics, I'm 2500 kilometres away from my collection and only bear a Citizen Airwave GPS, but I'll see what I can do when I get back next week.

I was planning on heading Idaho for this one since the since the probability of clear weather west of the Rockies is pretty good. BUT.....

Weather could be a problem but mid-August is usually pretty quiet, hot but quiet.

    Good idea to plan ahead!

We're in the fringe, so it'll be a day trip to the full effect. Can't wait!

I was on a beach with the children and the waves stopped, birds went silent and everything went still. It was like the world had it's batteries removed for several minutes as everything seemed to stand still.A truly remarkable experience
You could buy eclipse glasses and alsorts of tat but nothing surpassed the experience of being outdoors and I would imagine sitting on an Ozarks mountain witnessing the event to be a truly wonderful experience

I have been chasing eclipses all over the world for decades. The most amazing celestial experience. For those of us in the US don't miss this one.
