    UPDATE WITH FORSTNER OPINION BELOW

So after a bunch of lurking, reading, research I'm trying the US Flat Link (1035). I dig the weight--light as a feather, but it's almost too light.

A few things I've noticed: 1) the gap between the lugs and the first link. IMHO this is only apparent by me, as in, the way the light reflects, I think the brushed sort of makes things blend--for lack of better words (last photo). But me being OCD, it kind of annoys me. 2). the #$%#$pins! Hatem! Finally got it sized and it is a perfect fit in terms of balance (even though as I said, too light for me). 3) the pressure clasp just seems too Timex for lack of better words.

Anyway--I have the Forstner Contemporary flat link (brushed/polished) on the way so maybe that will be a different feel. If it doesn't work with the 1861 Speedy, I may try it on my SMP 50th GMT.

    More to come.

I think you will like the Forstner contemporary bracelet. I tried ever single one of the flat links as they came out (uncle Seiko, original Forstner, the contemporary), but kept the contemporary. It’s just enough thicker and the links are just a little longer to fit my wrist better and to keep my Speedy FOIS better centered on my wrist. The others were too light and the watch was always shifting to one side or the other. The contemporary Forstner is about as close as you can get to the new Omega flat-links, but at a fraction of the cost.

08/09/22: Forstner Contemporary Flat Link arrived.

The Forstner blows the Uncle Seiko out of the water. The milled clasp is very nice and the overall weight is more balanced. Still has the jangle and the curved end links are a plus (no gap). The single screw adjustment is very novel--I wonder if other watches may gravitate towards that (hint Omega since the darn bracelet screws always get launched into orbit!).

    Very pleased.

I just bought the Contemporary Forstner Flat Link for my new Broad Arrow. As usual, the reviews from Fratello made it a no-brainer.

My only complain with the Forstner is that I would have preferred a more discrete logo or no logo…

My take on these is that the US 1035 is true to the original, i.e. to someone accustomed to current bracelets it probably feels light and rattly. The contemporary Forstner flat link, being thick and heavier, has the heft and feel of a modern bracelet and may be better suited to a larger case. I have the contemporary flat link on my 3594.50 (pictured as my avatar) and find it to be nicely suited to the size and weight of the case.

I forgot to put on that mesh bracelet. Sorry!

However, the forstner came and is a great package. Perfect fit and an amazing look.

Could you please snap few pics of the contemporary fl with us endlinks? I don't like the profile of the forstner ones and think it could look better with us ones.
    cheers
