I'm almost considering this ebay purchase but am perplexed as to the unstamped case back. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271425862214?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network It's a 490 movement with a "SWISS" dial which coincides with the OXG stamped on the movement making it an American import. Could this possibly be a NOS replaced case back? Any comments on the dial would be appreciated too.
Yes, it could be a replacement caseback or possibly one that fit a lot of cases. Not the first time I've seen one missing a case reference stamp. Dial looks to be in excellent condition, as does the movement. Take care, gatorcpa
Thanks for the info I found this link which has a similar dial, same movement and also doesn't have a stamped ref on the case back http://styleintime.com/Vintage-Watc...ga-automatic-stainless-steel-cal-490-sold/250 Does this mean it doesn't have a ref number to look up? I don't know where to go from here in regards to researching the model.
The caseback on this is unmarked. Expected or a potential problem? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121304135177Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
