I am calling tentative dibs on this one. It looks pretty, but its location makes me suspicious. Not sure how sharp the edges should be, but it looks like it got a bit of polish. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-LON...CH-RARE-/181290836055?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
That bubbling on the dial near the pinion is only gonna get worse. Nice watch, but these U-C divers do pop up in better shape once in a while. Conquest hi-frequency versions have some color to them, with orange hands being the most common. You'll have to be patient and ready to pay when one comes around though.
Both the bezel and the hands look suspicious to me. The usual configuration for this watch is Or this one, with a thinly serrated bezel always with an orange/reddish minute hand and with a bezel with red markers that frequently is in a rough condition. The bezel, probably, is the most problematic part for these watches, because it seems that there is not a replacement for them. I have been looking for one to replace mine, unsuccessfully:
Great information. I hadn't noticed the bubbling around the pinion. One of the things that drew me to this one was the bezel, but it seemed a bit sketchy. I think I will steer clear. Thanks!
