uk posting high value watches... who do you use?

    hello all
    i usually send stuff registered post using the royal mail but its only insured upto £2500
    you cant get it any higher.
    so who does everyone else use?

    For the US and some other countries, registered mail is a good option. It moves slowly because it's signed for at every step of the way, but it's very secure and the maximum insurance is much higher. You need to pack with paper tape across all the seams so that it's evident if the package has been opened anywhere along the way.

    Use FedEx for posting. And ParcelPro for insurance.

    There is another insurance company a few people here have used recently. Can't remember the name, I'm sure someone else will chime in soon. There was a thread about them and the guy running it is a member here.

    ParcelPro isn't available for individuals in the UK any more, I had a lengthy back and forth with them last month - they're not interested apparently!

    DHL will insure up to 4k for 1.5% of the value, above 4k you're on your own I think.
