hello, I would appreciate some help on a tricompax am looking at...the movement seems ok (see picture) but the dial has at least a couple of anomalies: 1) the dial has no tricompax inscription; 2) the day sub-dial starts with the number 1 and then has even rather than odd numbers as per the standard tricompax configuration. would appreciate your opinions, many thanks
It's a redial, don't have many doubts about it. At least two hands look wrong. The pushers, they seem different. The case looks heavily polished. I would like to see the caseback... Is this watch from Brazil or Portugal?
The pusher tubes are different lengths. The fonts are wrong. Look at the seconds subdial the numbers are different sizes. AVOID the Noid
That's interesting, although it does seem llke a redial to me too-- and this means the OP should not buy it-- I don't find it hideous at all. I really like the patina on the dial and the moonphase subdial is beautiful. (Although it has been polished it isn't nearly half as polished as Sala's watches are. He himself advised me to polish a small aero compax I was once considering and never bought. That doesn't mean we should change what we consider to be nice watches but sometimes I feel we should be a bit flexible no?)
If the watch is a good price and you like the way it looks, I don't object in principle. This one doesn't do it for me.
Not a good price, 5 grands is steep for this one, just bought a climate proof from reliable seller instead
