    Hello All.

    New to this forum.

    Thoughts on this Tri-Compax Calibre 287 1940s?

    Stunning, but would be great if it is steel rather than plated! anyhow, really stunning.

    Wow that is a nice looking watch!
    "1 1XX XXX" should date the watch from 45-46.
    Based on that, moonphase with the face is correct, unsigned crown should be too (from what I recently learnt from Jordan :)).
    I am concerned a bit by font difference between day and month registers.
    Also, not 100% sure about the dial as it seems in exceptional condition (too good to be true?)... Maybe the day counter... Just a feeling, not sure!
    I am waiting for more knowledgeable people to give their thoughts.
    @jordn, what about indented registers?
    And as @ELV web said, too bad it is gold plated and not steel!

    Font difference is OK.
    Very nice piece in extraordinary condition.

    It's nice to see a great example with all of the correct parts instead of the junk we usually see here. Bigger 37mm case as well.

    The watch probably lived in a safe in a country with temperate climate. Just curious, does the red dot next to 7 o clock bother you guys as much as it does me? Oh no my ocd is acting up again. Gotta take my pills ::screwloose::....:D

    On the contrary, it is the tiny imperfection that makes the piece perfect, like the hairline crack in the Ming vase.

    @MMMD I think the Japanese would call it Wabi-Sabi ()

    Yes, wabi. Impermanence is beautiful. Everything changes, say the Buddhists. Πάντα ρει says Heraclitus. Omnia mutantur. And it's beautiful... until it changes too much...
