    Hi there,

I come across this interesting UG Compact. My first glance at its dial tells me that the fonts and logo seems alright. The dial looks very clean and is written swiss t at the bottom. It looks okay but a google shows almost zero results of 'UG Compact'. It seems that there are a ton of 'UG Polerouter Compact', but almost no 'Compact' models by itself.

    Here are some photos:

Big UG crown too...could this be original?

I will get some larger photos in a while, for now these are the photos i have.

I did a search: and it seems there is only 1 other 'UG Compact' floating around the internet:

    Picture of another watch:

Any thoughts on this model and originality?

Looks like a clean, classically-styled UG from the 1960s. I like it, especially with that crown!
Is that a UG bracelet in the 2nd photo?

Probably not a UG bracelet. It does look alright! Although I really can't find any such models online haha

I think that there are a number of similar models that share that same case with variations in dial, hands, movement etc. Most you see are either 'Polerouter Geneve' or 'Polerouter Compact'.

The Polerouter Geneve had a microtor movement, typically a Cal 218 or Cal 69.

The Polerouter Compact had the Cal 256 'super-microtor' Movado movement.

Presumably yours is not a Polerouter because it doesn't have an automatic movement.

Here's my Polerouter with Cal 218-2 movement.

Yes it is not a Polerouter.

It is a cal 56, so i'm guessing it is a generic dressy model. Just wondering, what is the 'Compact' series and whether it has any significance?

Probably referring to the thinness, as judged by the profile photo above.
