Hello,

Wondering if anyone can suggest where to source a Universal Genève cal 69 part 1497. This is the rotor ball bearing which is faulty on my Polerouter Super. I have tried the obvious avenues such as Cousins, EBay & Urdelar without luck.
Thanks, in advance!

Very difficult now days and older microrotors (non roller bearing, which i consider an upgrade) are getting rare. You could fit an older microrotor mechanism. They are interchangeable and older mechanisms can be re-sleeved (a sleeve can be machined and inserted to restore like new functionality). However, it is a job not many watchmaker do ...

Thank you Diabolik for the reply. Are the roller bearing rollers more fragile et more succeptible of failure?

Yes, although better (there is less friction), the roller bearing solution fails due to the wafer thin brass spacer that is used to keep ball bearing equally spaced (see below image). The common problem that they suffer from is visible in your microrotor (oblong circling the failure). it gradually wears the brass spacer which eventually breaks. Bearings are no longer held in place (spaced out evenly) and oscillating weight wobbles. The wobble gradually gets worse and Bob's your uncle.

They are impossible to fix. I have tried doubling the number of bearings and had limited success. To much work for too little. Best to opt for an earlier microrotor !

Thank you for the explanation. Are the rotor mechanisms totally interchangeable? Ie: will a 218-2 rotor assembly fit the cal 69 without modification?
