    • My latest find with lots of DNA all over it still. It appears to work and keep time. I am suspect of a early redial Geneve Is spelled with an A ?? But the patina looks really old. please all thoughts and value ideas? I think it will be for sale it’s a little small for me

You'd have to go on eBay and see what the value is for a decent condition cal 281 and the case go for as parts and go from there.

did they redial it from a white dial and then paint all the hands white? if you can salvage any of those hands, people are always looking for parts, especially the hands on the upper "momento" subdial....

So this thing is actually worth quite a bit as a parts watch.

I really like the 22290 cases. this one is not in the greatest shape but still, would be nice to see it matched up with a good dial !

Couple years ago I was bidding on a non working aero watch for A London member, with plan to carry it over on one of my London trips if we got it. Initial budget was $2k ... sold for over $4K as I recall. I Needless we didn’t buy it. These watches were working beasts, not a lot made and parts are dear. Crowns especially.

Worth a shot. I cannot recall if the dial was an attraction or not. That might have driven the value.

I don't think your ever going to find an original
dial to swap out so you may just wear it like it
is. Don't pay too much, for sure parts value !
$2,000-2500 . I myself would not pay more than that.

Good original dials are impossible to find. A non working original aero is far more valuable than a working aero with a painted dial. I cant see why one would want to buy a parts watch to re-sell unless it is a real bargain. It is a different story if you are looking to hold on to it with the hope of eventually sourcing a dial or wearing it as it is, but as a guide, although It sounds like a low ball, I would be looking at the $1K to $1.5K. In a worst case scenario, you should always be able to break even on a resale. The problem is that some parts sell easily and some dont, so at best it is a big hassle.

I agree with @Diabolik. In these cases, the value of the watch is made by dials.
