Since you have both, which one wears more comfortably? I've read that some people don't like the height of the new ceramic version. Do you notice a big difference in height and the ability of the ceramic to fit under a cuff? Is one noticeably heavier than the other?

    I like the Ceramic SMP more. It's more shiny :) :) :)
I do not feel a real difference between the two when wearing them.Indeed the ceramic SMP is a little thicker, but for me they feel the same.

Yeah, I own a couple older seamasters and the new coaxial is definitely on my list. I think it's like you... All my SMPs are blue and I want a black one. Thanks for the feedback on how it wears in comparison.

just for the heck of it .... let me throw granny into this father and son reunion ...

    (generic pic)

nothing to be ashamed of ... one of my all-time fav. omegas (the automatic, that is ... with only 27.000 made over 5+ years) ;)

.... ohh... and she wears flatter than a bulimic supermodel :D

donno why, but the bracelets of the 300's ... I find them to look very "dated" ... (as in 1990ies) I always wore mine on a nato

    cheers,
    Al

    like the rebadged eta 2892-a2?

    :whistling:

(sorry for my thread$hitting), but I don't see any advantage of a 2500 over a 2892, except the eta I can take to ANY watchmaker ANYtime and ANYwhere and get it serviced for $150 (now and in 30 years from now), whereas the "same" 2500 needs to take a long and expensive way to Omega ... and they might hold your watch hostage (sorry we can only change the crown together with a full service for the low-low price of $600.00) :whipped:

I had 2 watches with 2500s (no problems with either) and have about 3 or 4 watches with the 2892 and its not that the 2500 were any better or more precise then their brothers.

again - thats just ONE pov, but I see very little going for the 2500 in terms of pro-arguments...

    cheers

No real major benefit of a 2500 over its predecessor the 1120. What I am referring to is the new in house design calibres like 8500, Omega by 2017 will have all watches they claim using in house design movements with the exception of the speedy pro. I am not saying the ETA variants we have are not up to par they are excellent movements but is it not better to wait till 2017?

totally agree. I am wearing one right now. I get compliments on it all the time. And it sits so low and nearly flush with the wrist.
