It looks like i have been saved from buying a pig thanks to you guys, so before I make the same mistake again I would really value your thoughts, comments on these. The first looks very cheap right now but I'm sure it will go up as the auction progresses: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200831251988?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I like the look of this as well, though it is expensive, worth the money you think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/160899734893?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network cheers Shaun
Both are very good quality redials, faithful to the original designs from the 1940's. Both dials are noted as "restored" by their respective sellers. This is a code word for redial. One can't expect a 70+ year old dial to look that clean, even if it were sitting in a drawer for all that time. The seller of the second watch is very well known to Omega collectors and does excellent restoration work on both movements and dials. He also provides a reasonably priced overhaul service to his customers. That's one reason his price is a bit higher than others. If you're OK with that, then otherwise they both look nice. gatorcpa
Those dials are not "restored". They're completely refinished. Speed your learning curve by checking out threads about recommended eBay watches so you'll get past the stage where you keep being attracted to redials.
Thanks, and I have taken a good look through, I'm also going to do something that doesn't come naturally to me and take my time! I'm sure the right watch for me will pop up in that thread if I can be patient about it.
Shaun, start typing your reply a line or two after the [/quote] so it doesn't merge into the post you're replying to.
