Financially I think you are putting a bit more money on the table than the watch is worth.

Planning to downgrade the collection and keep it simple. I want to keep my gmt batman, omega moonphase and “IF” I decided to get this VC day-date and my speedy moonwatch. I’ve thought about that as well so I got offered 19.5K aud final price for the VC.

The Vacherons are on Chrono24 for an average of 13.8 USD. The Sub No Date’s seem to average around 8.1 USD the Yachtmaster seems to sell for around 9.2 USD.

I say sell the Yachtmaster and keep the sub. Then save for a bit and buy the Vacheron used

Or better get the rolex sea dweller JC? This is my first preference though.

Your choice of course ,but that VC just ain't worth the deal to me . It's a passing phase & you will soon be glad you didn't trade .

    Never liked the date Sub-dial

The 1 to 7 compared to the squashed 23 to 31

And what if your birthday is a even number, do you just miss out, for $13K I want it to point to my birthday not just a |

The VC is amazing, but financially, in my opinion, is not a good move. You can have a better price on the VC, discuss with the seller about the price, and try to buy it directly.
On the other hand, you can try to sell one of the 2 Rolex, and add some money.

I can only speak from personal experience. I've owned a few VCs and they are great watches. However they don't seem to maintain their value very well, especially the newer versions. Additionally start savings now for if and when that VC needs service - very expensive. Unlike VC, Rolex is well known to hold their value.

If I were you, I'd play the hand you're holding now. Just my 2Cs.

Thanks for advice guys really appreciate it. Its just every time I open my watch case they sing to my ears pls wear me today. Value wise as per brand its better to get patek but Im not there yet. Il keep them for now and see what basel world 2019 will bring to us. Even now rolex ss sports models are freakin hard to find unlike the VC. Cheers!
