    It's a special day today.

It's really is speedy extravaganza week, the postman delivered this beautiful near nos 1977 Speedmaster profession calibre 861 today

Not two hours later the courier called with another new old stock 1977 Speedmaster fresh from service! It's not every day one of us get one new old stock 77 speedy let alone two in one day

Truly twins but not identical twins in any way

Both of these watches are 1977, both speedmaster professionals and ironically the digital was three times the price of the manual and probably ten times rarer now

They are both remarkable watches but for very different reasons

    Love it!

I bet that if you asked people in 1977 which one of the two they'd like the most, they'd have wanted the LCD :D

Growing up, I recall my Dad having a quartz very similar to that one.

Back in the day, what was the retail price for each of those watches?

You always seem to post watches in the most amazing condition. Very nice indeed.

    Thanks chaps

Yep they are both very different watches but both very cool, the LCD may not stay long as I already have one that I wear but its just such a good feeling finding new unworn watches still and a double whammy when they are both birth year

Awesome find Tom. What is the caseback reference on the Speedie? 145.022-76?

Yep, case back is 145.022-76, sold in Leicester June 16th 1977 and TBH looks virtually unworn, the only noticeable cosmetic defect is a single tool mark from someone attempting to open it at some point in it's life but I will get STS to laser weld/ fill it and lap it back! The dial and hands are out of this world, they look amazing
