I owned this watch and sold it



Sometimes I looked at its dial and forgot about the time.

Now I want to buy exactly this model once more.

Am I a fool or worse?

If you're a fool for doing that once, I'm a total dipshit because I've not only wanted to do it dozens of times but actually done it a few times.

I tend to buy crappy ones first, then overpay for a replacement after a years of remorse. I'm afraid to admit how many times...

Hey @Alex_TA, if I recall correctly from a previous post, I think you have a 9300 Omega Speedmaster chronograph? Are you buying the Zenith back as a complement to the Omega? Zenith watches are now finally being sold in Rio, though only in the duty free which does concern me in terms of technical support. I have considered an El Primero variant as a possible future purchase as I am considering getting a second chronograph to complement my speedy 45th. Could you please give further insight as to what motivated your return to the Zenith? Thanks.

 

I made some reorganization and sold 9300 a month ago. Great watch in all senses, including size [emoji57]In the move to more sane sizes I've limited myself to 42mm maximum.

Now, here are the reasons why I've bought it for the first time:

1. In my opinion, this is the most readable Zenith, and it is important for me because I wear glasses for reading but often go without glasses.
2. It has a good lume for dusk.
3. I like the mesh bracelet.
4. This watch have been awarded in the "Petite Aiguille" category at the 2012 Basel.
5. Last but not least, my father was an aeronautical engineer, and our home was often littered with parts from old aircraft: barometers and the like. When I first saw this watch, I was struck by how its dial looks like those old devices.
The perfect vintage.

And I feel some attraction to Zenith as a company, a modest hero of watchmaking [emoji3]
I've sold it for the number of reasons but missed it heavily.

As for AD presence in your hometown, it's up to you. I personally don't buy watches from producers which are not officially represented in my country, as a matter of principle. Additionally, AD can send a watch for guarantee repair of re passage without a hassle. But you are the citizen of the world, maybe it's easier for you [emoji4]

 

At least you CAN rebuy the watch. I sold something and now realize how rare it was, but will not find another and definitely not for the price I bought or sold mine for. Live and learn!

Santa traded in the reindeer and sleigh for a Huey and a 7.62 M60, eh? Smart man. Some of the neighborhoods he goes into at night made me wonder how he survived.
