·One final watch out the door in 2019 (or early 2020). Tudor's most exotic vintage offering is both iconic and still approachable, offering a great opportunity for someone to dip their toe into the Wilsdorf "exotic" side without taking out a second mortgage. If I did not already own one of these, I would not be selling. Condition report below:
Dial: The dial is in good overall condition, with even, creamy lume on the indices. The 5 o'clock marker has lost half of its lume, but the rest are in good cosmetic condition. The right subdial has minor spotting (shown in the final picture) but is not very noticeable when on the wrist (as you can see from many of the pictures).
Hands: Correct handset is in good shape. The lume on the hour / minute hands has aged to a slightly different hue than the markers (a more greenish tone, as pictured), but is still aesthetically pleasing.
Case / Bezel: The case has been polished previously but the curvature of the original bevels can still be seen. Bezel is in good condition, as is the caseback, with minor scuffing.
Pushers: It's typically not worth giving the pushers their own section, but this is the world of vintage Rolex, so of course it matters here! Original Mk2 pushers are in perfect condition and screw down smoothly. These are typically ~$2.5K on their own, so please keep that in mind relative to my asking price.
Movement: The column wheel Valjoux 234 movement was serviced two years ago and is in perfect working order, keeping strong time with all chronograph functions working crisply and correctly. This was an upgraded movement over the initial iteration of the Monte Carlo (the 7031/0). The Oyster case is rock solid...so solid, in fact, that my friction ball was not able to unscrew the caseback, but as I noted, the movement has been serviced and performance is great. If that is the deciding factor for the ultimate buyer, I will gladly allow for a return if the movement is not in satisfactory condition.
Accessories: I am selling the watch with its C+I rivet bracelet. The bracelet is full length and in overall good shape. The links have minor stretch and the connecting pin is slightly bent (this can be seen in the macro picture of the clasp).
My asking price is $10,500, which includes fully insured Fedex Priority shipping. Payment via PayPal (F&F or add 3% if using PP) or direct bank wire. US sale strongly preferred. Face-to-face in Chicago is also welcome for local buyers. Finally, I have plenty of references available as a buyer and seller that I can provide if necessary. Thanks for looking and thanks to OF for the space.
