That's the plan. As much as I'd love to buy watches as and when I feel like it, it's nice for them to have a purpose. When I have my first child I'd like to buy my birth year submariner to pass down at a later point, then my son would have a watch as old as me! I think that would be cool.

This is an awesome idea, assuming you get a son 馃槈 ! I'll probably do that on top of buying 2 cases of wines so they can drink a good red wine as old as them on their wedding day. BTW, congratulations for your wedding!

Good present for your wedding. I like very much the blue version and the combination with the formal attire required for a wedding.

Congrats!

So from the photo it should be fairly obvious what I got up to at the weekend...!

Thanks to all OF members for their kind words before the big day, it all went extremely well and I've enjoyed a nice relaxing couple of days to let it sink in. Back to work tomorrow...

Married on a Saturday in April, 49 years ago. For a wedding present, I ended up with a 1966 rental Plymouth 2-door hardtop slathered with Vaseline and toilet paper, over night. Woke up to that on a cold Sunday morning. Courtesy of my best man's sister! I have never forgiven her for that! Took me hours to clean up the mess! My spouse still has the cultured pearl strand I gave her. Neither of us remembers whether, or if, I got a wedding present from her.

I'm getting married in July and my Fiance has purchased a Black Bay Blue as a wedding day gift (I know as I picked it out!). The most annoying thing is I can't wear it until the wedding day 馃檨

Waking up each morning knowing it's in the draw next to the bed is killing me but I've promised not to take it out the box or I'll be in trouble :whipped:

I'll post a picture when it's finally on my wrist!

Something to look forward to on the day. 馃榾)

Thank you! Just over 6 weeks to go.. everything is set and in place except for my speech. I plan on taking a road trip in a couple of weekends time to pitch up somewhere quiet and get it finished. All good speeches have a beginning, a middle and an end - or something like that!

Nah...a good speech follows this format:

Stand up to be seen
Speak up to be heard
Sit down to be appreciated

Nice pic of you and the new BB.

I tried to give my wife a pearl necklace on our wedding night but she said I was a dirty dog !
