·Hi guys,
II have for sale an amazing Tudor "Big Block" chronograph reference 79160 in great conditions, with a strong case and a fantastic "panda" dial.
The watch was sold in Switzerland in 1992 and it comes with the original box and guarantee papers.
B4 serial number, circa 1992.
The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time.
Introduced in 1976 and in production until 1995, the “Big Block” series of chronographs were the first chronographs in the history of Tudor to feature automatic movements, making these watches the first self winding chronographs from the Wilsdorf group and over a decade before Rolex introduced their first automatic Daytona.
The subtle variants, the larger case, and fantastic dials are ultimately what makes the “Big Block” so cool, and even though they are Daytona-esque the “Big Block” references really define a range of watches that stand on their own, which is ultimately what makes them collectible and worthy of time on the wrist.
In excellent overall condition, with an amazing panda dial and an unpolished case this well-preserved example has become a favorite expression of the Tudor Big Block, offering a classic sporty look at a tremendous value.
CASE:
Even and thick case that in my opinion was never polished.
Serial and reference number are fully visible.
Original 79160 caseback.
BEZEL INSERT:
Original Tudor bachelite bezel insert in excellent conditions.
DIAL:
The dial is an original silver dial with a beautiful light creamy patina even on all plots and all lettering is clearly visible and correct.
Tritium is original and was checked with UVA light.
Dial shows no chips around the rehault and no scratches.
BRACELET:
The bracelet is the original 78360 with 589 endings in very good conditions with 13 links.
Clasp is also original to the watch and the code (P) matches the year of the serial.
MOVEMENT:
Original Tudor Valijoux 7750 caliber running well.
BOX AND PAPERS:
The watch comes with the original Tudor box (inner/outer) with 79160 sticker, the Tudor warranty holder, the Tudor guarantee (punched papers), Tudor translater booklet.
Asking 10500 Euro, insured shipping included.
I am not interested in any trade.
