    I dont know

But seem to remember some expert ( was it eric ku or eric wind? ) recently saying that these rangers were heavily faked, so extreme due diligence is required here

I’ve been collecting real rangers for a while now. Here are my thoughts:

The reference you have is a valid reference for a Ranger dial, but it was before Rangers had their own reference numbers.

The dial looks good to me and lacks the immediate red flags — red text or a space between ‘oyster’ and ‘date’. The lume seems to be in hard-to-believe condition, so I would be interested in UV behavior. But I have a few examples with remarkably preserved, original lume — so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was original to the dial.

Date wheel and text also looks correct for this reference.

The hands on this example are real and look good! The fake hands usually have a longer line of lume on the hour hand that extends closer to the post and the fake minute hand is often a sword hand.

Hard to tell the case condition from the photos, but assuming it isn’t over-polished and the price is right, I would pick it up.

For reference, here’s a fake one on eBay right now with a few bad signs at once.

This is a reference 9050 from my collection for comparison:

What’s the serial number range of the watch? Would also be curious to hear what other ranger owners on the forum think. .. @mappleluna ? @EdtheAussie ?

    Best,

    M

I’m looking into this reference lately as I can’t find the bigger Brother 1016 with reasonable price.

    Nice watch.

This one looks good and original to my "no-more-trained" eyes. If I were you and depending on the price, I'll go for it

Looks good to my eyes, lume is a bit puffy but might just be the lighting.

Roulette date wheel is nice. :)

What's the price you're looking at? - will need a crown and don't know what the inside look like

That’s a nice 7966 you have there! I saw the one on eBay, doesn’t it look like hands were relumed or exposed to humidity? Strange green hue
