Tudor 7928 from 1966 assesment

Hi I am in a trade a Speedmaster against the 7928 , but I am not really a specialist in the Rolex World , I have a few pictures appreciated if you have any concerns and a price “level” of the market as they are dozens on chrono24 from 7k to 14k range difficult to get a real idea.

watch is unpolished , papers , box

In your place, I would just ask @Linesiders, no other opinions needed.

P.S. Gotta love it when a seller says a watch is unpolished, and then it has cratered lug holes. Double-check that the papers are legit and for that watch.

Box and papers aside, does it sing to you? The green/grey/black lume on the dial isn’t ideal for most people. You can also see that it’s been polished on the picture showing the crown. The case still looks fine to me but why does the seller say it’s unpolished and then lose credibility for everything else?

These pictures tell you nothing. Unpolished ? For example: All scratches on the underside of the lugs are not where they would be, if genuine. Ask for high resolution pictures of the dial and bezel, hands at 9.15. which movement? Pics? Inside the case back ? My gut feeling? I would not touch it.

Just saw all the others posts , Rolex Tudor is the farwest comparing to the Oméga sector where I feel safe 😀)))) will drop it .

Just seeing this. Photos are not clear enough to tell if dial is redial or not, but I suspect with the moldy plots, it is legit (not many redial mold). Plots look like a 65/66 because of the mold (same lume on Rolex and Omega had similar results). Slight chance relumed - again terrible photos.

Hands look original, insert was replaced with a 70s/80s MK3. Soft case, polished at least by time. Not a great example and worth more parted out than as it stands.

C24 pricing is way high both my numbers and what they are smoking, versus what the market brings.

I do not know what you have for a Speedy to trade but I would be hesitant to trade unless the speedy is rough .

Thanks for all of you, at the end the guy was willing to trade it against a Speedy Tokyo that i have , discussing with him they pay way to much around 14€K some years ago and was trying to relieve the loss ( was expecting the speedy and cash) , was reluctant just because the price range was so large already but all your comments made it clear many thanks for that.

I have the same Tudor 7928 and can say that the bezel is not original to the watch (newer). The case has been polished and my estimate is more like 10K USD. If you are looking for a better 7928 Tudor, I can show you mine. My instagram account is rolexfan2018

My estimate for that 7928 is 7K. Having sold a few similar 7928s the past few years, if not perfect / very very good, the market is not strong.

It's near impossible for me to consider a watch without better pics. Great input from members who know this reference.
