From 1957 here’s a stunning automatic Tudor Oysterprince 34, model 7909. Of particular note is the incredible tropical dial that has aged to an even ‘Panna’ colour cream. Being a no-lume dial there is none of the degradation you see in many others, so the Big Rose logo and markers are in incredible condition with a golden/bronze tone and the hands similar in certain light and beautiful blued seconds hand. The cross-hair and writing is crisp and legible. The 34mm case is superb for its age, fat and possibly unpolished with the model and serial number clear and legible on the caseback as is expected from this era. There are of course hairline scratches on the case, caseback and bezel but no deep gouges. The Rolex crown winds down properly and whilst it comes with no guarantees of service it is running as expected of a vintage watch. Due to the long lugs and fat case this model wears larger than its 34mm size, hardly noticeably smaller than its 36mm cousins from Rolex. As a side note feel free to look up ‘British North Greenland Expedition’ from early 50s where this model became famous for its incredible capabilities under a real endurance test! Please use images as part of the description and feel free to message. Sale for watch only, happy to discuss adding strap/nato. No returns.
This is also for sale on eBay if you feel more comfortable buying there.
