OK so it's arrived a couple of minutes ago. I've done some research but I'm not an expert - so please let me know if there are any red flags. The lume looks to have aged likely. The dial has bubbled up, as what seems to be common with this watch (as far as my limited research has revealed). Dial seems to have also turned blue. The bezel still has the lume pip, and has turned a lovely blue. Condition is "excellent", the case is beveled. Not razor sharp but still well-defined. Nothing to compare with so not sure if it's unpolished. Caseback. 7206 bracelet with 80 end links which I think is period correct, based on limited info. Referenced with the "Collecting Rolex Submariner" book and the bracelet looks to be correct. (bad pic sorry still sleepy) The crown has no dot, which I believe is accurate for this watch "69 1" on the clasp? Not shown: - case says 7016/0 - serial is 624xxx which suggests 1968-1969
Beautiful. I have no knowledge to verify correctness, except to say blue dial and bezel are original to some of these models. It hasn't just "turned blue" -- it is blue, and an obvious civilian equivalent of the French Marine Nationale snowflake. Here's a couple for comparison: https://bulangandsons.com/bs-marine-nationale-dynamic-duo/
Nice example. Congrats. I've also acquired one recently, which I believe is unpolished. Took some close-ups of case etc., if you want to compare: https://omegaforums.net/threads/winter-is-coming-and-snowflakes-have-turned-blue.39127/
The "dial rot" is typical on this reference - an issue with the laquer or paint that seems to affect the dial, but not the markers. On my phone, I can't tell from your photos if the dial is blue or black - came both ways. Either way, the bezel should match. I do like these Tudor Subs - been looking for a 9401/0 Blue Snowflake myself, but so far a top condition example has eluded. me. Congrats!
I agree with all the expert opinions, the Sub looks great! The Snowflake has been on my wish list for quite some time now, only wished I acquired one before the recent spike in popularity and price. Kudos to Tudor for reinvigorating the brand.
