$16,898 is steep, but it's BNIB. I have bought from Alfred before and he is a great guy. If this were down at $14k, I'd buy it straight away. Sure wish I could see one of these in person to see if I would really like it. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=556883
Would go for a complete set then and not pay extra for NIB - you pay a hefty surcharge for being the one to put the first scratch in.
yeah look for a complete set. i reckon 14k USD u can find a 98-99% condition full set for that price. the extra 2k isn't worth it.
Good advice. A collector with no intention of wearing it will snap it up. In a couple years he'll realize a decent profit.
I'm with the others recommending finding a good condition and intact pre-loved example for a couple/few thousand less.
I'm with everyone else.BNIB if you have no intentions of wearing it. Save the money and buy a slightly worn Snoopy which you are going to enjoy on your wrist.
I'd like to be the only one that ever wore a watch, but if it's an additional 2 grand coming out of my pocket, I'd let someone else take that initial price hit to wear it first. I agree with everyone else and would wait for something in great condition, but not demanding bnib price.
Damn, but I'm small potatoes compared to some of you guys. My entire collection is worth a shade less than that.
These are dropping. I'm not sold these will continue to go up, and I don't really see the mechanism for them to continue to rise.
I think ones like this should be considered investment grade. But then again, collectors with the financial wherewithal to afford something like this are sometimes more interested in owning it than profiting from it. I know I would be.
I dont think price will drop anytime soon for a silver snoopy. After all, there is "only" 1970 pcs in the world. 2 years have passed, and I'm sure most of those already settled and passed on to actual collectors who intend to keep or wear. So less likely you will find a bnib down the road from speculators (...profiteers). That's probably why the seller was seeking such large premium.
I wish I likes the watch itself more. Now an Italian Albino I would be tempted. Last one of those I saw was around $20K
