Hey guys, I inherited my Grandfathers 70-80s Submariner back in 2015 when he passed and wore it everyday until it stopped working. Im pretty certain it just needs a cleaning done as it hasn't had one in a long time. I know there is the Rolex service center in Beverly Hills that will obviously do a good job, but when i've gone in before they've quoted around $600 for a cleaning. Its a family heirloom and obviously a Rolex so I don't expect it to be cheap, but does anyone know of a reputable watchmaker in the greater Los Angeles area that could preform the service for less? I know my grandfather used to have a guy in Florida who used to work for Rolex, so I know they are out there! Thanks in advance!
Welcome to the Forum! $600 is reasonable.. Here is another one local to you: http://www.lawatchworks.com/
Thanks everyone! I misspoke i'm not sure where I got $600, but I just called and its actually between $850 and $1050 depending on the specific watch. Im calling all of your recommendations now to get their prices.
Try Shant’s Clock & Watch repair in Pasadena. Just did great work for me at very reasonable prices.
I was not going to provide recommendations initially, but if the comparison point is now $850, I can recommend Time Tec in the LA Jewelry District. Price is $750, but service is top notch. Look for Kevin and tell him Jerome referred you
If it's just a CLA that's needed with no new parts involved, Montana Clock Shop might be a more reasonably priced option.
