Trouble uploading images: iPhone 15

Ever since upgrading my iPhone to the new 15 model, I can't, for the life of me, upload photos to Omega Forums. I've tried toggling the JPEG Max mode, set the format to 'most compatible'... but nothing helps.

When I upload one of the native camera photos to OF, it uploads the photo but shows the preview as a text document. When I publish the comment, it doesn't show the image at all. If I use any camera app other than the native camera, OF allows me to upload the photo without issue.

Now, I'm aware that this is probably a user issue and not an OF problem, but I just thought I'd check to see if anyone else has had a similar issue.

Thanks in advance, Matt

I think someone found that the native file size is too large.

I find I have to reduce my iPhone 10 with preview before upload. I do not think this system likes width or height much over 2048. I usually do upload as PNG but the HEIC native format is some sort of jpeg so the PNG converted files are smaller than a previously uncompressed PNG would be.

IPhones have so many sharing options one can always bounce the photo through one or more of these and see if it reduces the size. I tend to simply export them as it is easier to type on the desktop.

Yes, this maybe the issue. It's currently set to 24MP mode as opposed to to the 12MP mode... I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help!

Just took this photo now and it worked! Looks like the issue was the default 24MP images the phone was taking. Thanks for all your help!

For casual posting purposes, I find that a compressed image format with a file size of about 1MB is more than sufficient. Maybe you would want to post high resolution images in certain circumstances if you wanted people to be able to blow up small details.

That does sound frustrating! It's odd that the issue only seems to occur with photos from your native iPhone camera. Have you tried checking the file format of the images you're trying to upload? iPhones often save images in HEIC format, which may not be fully compatible with all platforms. Converting them to JPG format could potentially solve the problem.
