Dial looks nice though. Judging by some recent threads, you might be able to get a reasonable contribution towards a DoN by selling this.
I can't tell if it's the glare from the crystal, but it also looks like this one might have an incorrect rehaut?
29 is a bit late for these, but not necessarily wrong. The DNN did not appear until later in the 145.022-69 production
After rechecking an old photo, it's either a 280 or 290 serial. Hard to tell for sure but defintely one of those.
If you go by MWO and 101 chart http://speedmaster101.com/serial-quick-reference-to-78/ ? Mines is 26 5x but maybe someone has a 28?
Ok this serial number issue has been vexing me so I decided to have my watchmaker open the case to confirm the number. It is indeed a 280x. I also found a good DON 90 bezel to repatriate with this gem. I love its pristine dial .
28M serial should be fine, it probably indicates a 1969 production date - towards the end of production for these. (I have a 145.022-69 with a 28.42M movement that was produced on January 9, 1970.)
