I was looking for a new watch I could wear on holidays and when travling in the outskirt of my comfort zone 馃
It had to be waterproof to avoid any worries about getting close to water or even go snorkling.
In my search I looked at Seiko Prospex, Baltic Aquascaphe and a few others.
All in all I enden up with this new build Tornek Rayville and yes I'm pretty satisfied.
After having this for some weeks now I think the build quality is good. I was afraid of the case would stand out to thick for me and my small wrist, but I think it feels great on the wrist and I haven't hit any door frames yet.
For my taste the "moisture indicator" could be more prominent with some color, but I guess that's it.

It鈥檚 an attractive watch, msrp is around $1k which ain鈥檛 bad for the FF style. Seiko movement isn鈥檛 the bottom of the barrel-
Here are the specs from the website:

Glad you found a nice watch to knock around with.

Agreed. Still, it looks good. And a great size too.

What is a moisture indicator?
the original Blancpain/Tornek has a circular water-indicator patch built in at 6 o'clock. The little patch would change color if the case is compromised and no longer waterproof. So if you're 100ft down and your patch changed color, you know your watch is no longer useful for the dive.

New/reissued watched no longer have these functional water indicator, they are now a design element from the past.

Easy to install for a more vintage Look ... I had a few left from our Restorations of old BP Dials .

Nice watch!
The 14.7mm case is what is holding me back.
Best

Very cool watch! I literally just learned about the original last night while reading A Man & His Watch.

Yes I ordered it on the website when they released a new batch for order.
It took about 3 month from ordering to delevery.

This Tornek is by far the nicest resurrection of a great vintage and military issued Blancpain. Mr. Yao bought the Brand name and now these are legit Tool watches in their own right. Used mine for diving as well. I had 2 original ones in the 1990's. This one comes very close; except for the crown...

Nice review and photos. I really like this style of watch and have a homage by a different brand that I enjoy wearing. I was also close to buying the Bulova Mil Ships, which is quite similar and has a functional moisture indicator. I know @JwRosenthal is very find of it.

My best tip:
- Sign up for a notification for the next preorder
- Set up your account before ordering to get an edge in the checkout process
- Warm up your fingers 10 minutes before ordering
- Be QUICK when ordering and checkout

It seams the batch where I got mine was sold out in 2 minutes

I didn't realise they were so popular!

I gues it's a very limited batch at a time.
And it looks like a new batch every 3 month or so.
