Im thinking that MOST observers would agree... the above picture with the green boxes would depict at least 50% ad space and less than 50% content space....

The area of the green portion (display) == 2,317 x 1,637 or 3,792,929 pixels
The area of the red portion (content) == 1,700 x 915 or 1,555,500 pixels

The portion of the display used for content == 1,555,500 / 3,792,929 or ~ 41%

 

If it bothers you that much, pay for the ad free version. Otherwise accept it’s a small price to pay for free access to the best watch forum on the planet.

 

I suggest you run those numbers again…

 

2317x1637 = 3,792,929
1700 x 915 = 1,555,500

1,555,500/3,792,929=.401

No, you need to take a percent of the total area. 1.5M IS what % OF the total ....closer to 29% using your starting numbers.

 

Yes, the red box is roughly 40% of the green box.

 

I think MOST members here are thankful for the time and efforts of those that make this forum possible. If the costs of keeping the forum up and running are offset by ad space, so be it. I'd rather see the forum alive and well with ads than no forum at all. Just my two cents.

OP must work for Google. I pay money to avoid ads, yet here they are.

 

pretty simple options... complain, or send a pretty small amount of money not to see them.

 

Or better yet click on the "Pay it Forward" thread and make a pledge to donate to a charity. For sure a member will take you up on it and it's for two good causes.
