Im thinking that MOST observers would agree... the above picture with the green boxes would depict at least 50% ad space and less than 50% content space....
Please, just dial it back....

The area of the red portion (content) == 1,700 x 915 or 1,555,500 pixels
The portion of the display used for content == 1,555,500 / 3,792,929 or ~ 41%

No, you need to take a percent of the total area. 1.5M IS what % OF the total ....closer to 29% using your starting numbers.

I think MOST members here are thankful for the time and efforts of those that make this forum possible. If the costs of keeping the forum up and running are offset by ad space, so be it. I'd rather see the forum alive and well with ads than no forum at all. Just my two cents.

··Ash @ ΩFWe’re aiming to reduce ad density on the forum in the coming months, that was one of the goals of adding the stories section to spread out some of that burden and make it better for people who are not logged in or subscribers on the forum.
