I've been watching this one since it appeared. A purported Ref 22258 Tri-Compax...

now everyone knows that the "2" prefix is a stainless steel case. But some artisan has cooked up this gold plated monstrosity in its place, a caricature of a Universal design, as if Deppity Dawg took up watch design. You may applaud the industry, but can't help but deplore the taste.

What does a real 22258 look like?

Artesia, California seems lately to be a hub for a rotating group of ebay sellers flogging fake or tarted up UG, VC, UN, JLC, PP, Rolex and other desirable brands. Quite a lucrative criminal enterprise if the collective feedback is any indication of success, eBay's excellent "safe market" protocols notwithstanding.

I make no claims about this particular seller, but the location and this offering are red flags and I would be dubious about any offering.

    As always, caveat emptor.

Agreed - I almost paid a noob tax on a concocted UN originated from Artesia - arrived with a photocopied dial, and not one, but two tachy scales! Just in case I guess.. I was thankful for Ebay/PayPal's swift refund that time.

The mangled up English in the ebay listing is very suspicious.
