Dear respectable members, I came across this website with tons of vintage omegas. Would love to own number 40 on this list. http://chatewatch.com/omega.php
I would be very cautious dealing with them. You should check for reference and records before dealing.
Should be a Thai seller. He's also selling on a few thai sites. http://webmail.thai2plaza.com/id-50bec7149ce62e394c000729.html http://www.thaisecondhand.com/product/9600545/
A lot of old American and British men (Euros too?) go to Thailand to retire and never leave. Alive. Their watches need a new home.
Why is it that just about ALL of the dials on these Omega's look almost brand new? If they are redials they've done an excellent job?!
Website takes nearly forever to load. I did focus on one watch with an unusual dial: http://chatewatch.com/list/214-omega-constellation-S28.html From what I can see, the dial on this one is 100% correct. Case has been polished, but seller has put a nice matte finish on the case top. Not that way originally, but it looks nice. Movement is correct for Ref. 168.0025 (cal. 564) as is the crown. No price listed however, gatorcpa Here's another one. If this is a redial, I'd like to know who is doing the work.
Here's a Japan only "Rare Bird" in what looks to be immaculate condition: http://chatewatch.com/list/182-omega-constellation-S24.html I don't think these originally came on beads of rice bracelets, but the seller has done a nice job of fitting it to the watch. I've been able to look at a couple of other Omegas and they look more or less correct, but for some fairly heavy polishing. Here's a picture of my example for comparison: Here is Desmond's article on these: http://users.tpg.com.au/mondodec//Last_Omega_Constellation_Pie_Pan.pdf I would be curious to know if their prices are reasonable as there a number of other unusual references like this that one is unlikely to find on this side of the Pacific. gatorcpa
