Now we know how they felt back in Colonial days, playing on their iPads by candlelight.

😜

I ain't not electrician, but I'm pretty sure no power=no AC. Sorry, man.

Thanks guys, but no worries - the storm also blew out the hot temps. Besides, we're back up now.

I hope the storm does not cause any damage.
Here in Malawi we have two days a week with no electricity due to load sheding. It is pretty annoying at first but you get used to it. Last year we went a whole week without it, which was a huge pain in the rear.

Wow. My wife would have a weekly excuse to pig out on any ice cream in the house "before it melts".

My wife would have an excuse to go on a trip and get away if that happened.

We've had a few storms (winter and early spring) over the past few years that have knocked out power for multiple days, which is tough since we're on a well for our water (no town water or sewer in our neighborhood). We put in a natural gas fireplace insert a few years ago, so at least we can get heat when the power goes out, but after the most recent occurrence, I've broken down and am in the process of getting a whole house generator installed. It's expensive, and overkill, but it will be worth it when we have full power during the next blizzard.

When I build my compound, I'm certainly getting a back-up generator. Maybe even moving that up the list in front of the M-134 mini-guns we plan on using to defend the perimeter.

here's a storm that blew through my neck of the woods a while back.

Are you sure there wasn't a space ship hiding in that cloud? 😲

We haven't had a storm but we did lose power this morning for about 30 minutes and we now have today's rain rescheduled to late Saturday afternoon: we'll see.
