My, oh my, alot has happened during this year... all good! ...and I have this amazing forum to thank ..THANKS EVERYONE! I should probably also be thankful of the fact that I am unmarried, because, otherwise, there might be some amount of 'control' (or, at least, the appearance of) of the SIZE of the Collection... or NOT! It baffles me that I've been able to buy valuable gold and SS loot from persons I've never actually met! But this forum over time allows that.... and I'm very grateful for the friendships, but also the LOOT! Hopefully, I will have the opportunities in the future to raise a glass with some of my new buds... I'm not going to post the collection, I already did that 5 months ago, after my 1000th post: https://omegaforums.net/threads/7-months-of-booty-1000-posts-and-a-bit-of-reflection.25029/ Yes, there's been more than a doubling since then , but... Here's my beloved first vintage (left, below) I purchased as a complete newbie (I knew nothing, and I still know almost nothing), along with my latest ('55 JLC Memovox gold cap cal. 814): I really got lucky with the first purchase above, a '58 ref. 2846-14, cal. 501 I bought from @jinson . Still a favorite even after 363 days... I bought it because I thought it was gorgeous, and it was my birth year, but since then, I've bought 'birth year' watches that were merely by accident !
Congrats Dougiedude! Mine is tomorrow, but I'll celebrate here with you instead of making my own post. What a ride it's been over the last year!
Thanks, Joel! I think we've kinda grown up on here, together, haven't we? I love your posts, you are always asking great questions, and finding so many answers that I never would have found! You certainly deserve a thread of your own, even moreso than me... I'd love to hear some of your reflections, and see some of your fine watches again!
Huh, I didn't even realise that I had the same anniversary a month ago… Can't match either post count or purchase power, though!
Congrats Dude! Forgot to tell you, but the Lemania Tg is a formidable girl magnet! I can never wear it when I visits bars and nightclubs etc, because I'm immediately flooded with drooling women! Most of them deadly gorgeous. So you know what not to do, if you wish to maintain your independency as a watch collector That is if you're a straight guy, something that one should not take for granted in this enlightened era we're living in!
W0W! Got to be one of the highest watch-per-membership month ratios around. No "governance" and a low resistance to enablement is an enviable combination. Blah blah blah on your one year anniversary! Yada yada 2016. ‼️
We're practically crib-mates, then......congratulations, brother! Agreed. So many watches, and so little time! Seems like years ago now, that I drained my wallet to make a small dent in your Longines collection ...
Now, that's what I like to hear! Drooling women are my true 'grail'; the deadly gorgeous ones, of course... I'll slap on the Tg and try it out this weekend!... and just in case any gorgeous babes are reading this, here's a preview:
Just talk to Martin @marturx , the Man, above.. I think he's supplied most of us here with ours... he's our Sweet Swedish Connection!
