To squeeze a 21mm strap in a 20mm lugs watch. Possible?

Hello!
I'm talking about THIS type of 21mm straps: leather (or rubber in the Alinghi version) with a colored rubber interior (see pictures: the ones found on Speedy Racing, DSOTM, Alinghi)

Did anybody try to squeeze one of these in a 20mm lugs watch?

Yes, I usually like Hirsch but these are too colorful for my taste. I like better the seen/unseen color, like the black/orange Racing strap.

I’ve never specifically done this, but if I were really in love with the strap, I would have no compunction about using fine-grit papers to bring the ends down a bit to make it fit.

The rubber one on a speedy is a hard fit, they are actually 21.3mm. As you can see on the above picture they are a tight fit on a 21mm Alinghi version

To squeeze a 21mm strap in a 20mm lugs watch. Possible?
