Hi, has anyone ever seen a Tissot that looks just like a Seamaster chronograph from the late 60's before? I know that Tissot and Omega were under the same roof in the past but this one is like a clone http://www.ebay.com/itm/300917913365?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Yes. Both have Lemania movements. Tissot - http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Tissot_871 Omega - http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_321 One major difference is that the Tissot doesn't have the column wheel mechanism, although it has the same distinctive bridge shape. I guess you could say it is a transitional movement between the Omega 321 and the later 861. But that isn't quite right, since Lemania made these movements to Tissot's specifications, not Omega. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Thanks Gator, that is very helpful. Is there a way of dating the movement like we can with Omega? I found a table on WUS but it said this movement is from the 40's I think. Thanks CS
