Got an interesting incoming today. I understand that Omega and Tissot were sister companies back in those days and these Marine Standard clip on case watches were created then. The hour hand was probably replaced - a little pity. But for a tool watch like this, it can’t be help. At least it matches the overall outlook. If anyone has source about the hands, like me know. Would be happy if anyone can share more about these watches or even show yours too. Here are the photos:
Very nice! You have a lovely "Antimagnetique" example; these also came as an "Aquasport" model. Dials came in black, white and copper, and all of them were produced around 1940-1941 in the Baumgartner case. Here are a few posts on these: https://omegaforums.net/threads/tissot-aquasport-marine-standard-waterproof.8368/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/small-things-radium-and-beautiful.80113/#post-1023889
Beautiful! The corners of the crystal for my piece has kind of blurred out. I guess it had aged out abit. Trying to see if I can find a replacement. Is it possible to remove the crystal to replace in the first place ?
Indeed man. The dial and case condition is what threw me off my feet. I only realised about the hands after I made the deal. But the seller was nice enough to give a partial refund when I told him about the hands (which he honestly didn't know).
Very nice looking example, even though the hour hand. I had a solid gold Omega of this watch that I sold last year. The crystal came out though and broke. So make sure it's secured.
Or where do you find nice vintage examples in general?! If you browse vintage watches on Instagram, seems like they exist, but never go for sale. And when they do, it's price gouging.
You're in luck! They are all steel Note the term "Acier Inoxydable" in the 6th photo from top (back of watch)
Yes I saw your other thread on this. This one is one perfect example. I am embarking on a project to find the right hands and a good crystal for mine.
