Up for sale is my Tissot Janeiro. This is a steel watch dating from the mid-90’s, with a hand-wound Valjoux 7765 inside (called calibre Z199 by Tissot). The watch oozes vintage vibes despite being made in the 90s; it was a reissue of an old Tissot chronograph apparently, and a total of 3333 pieces were made. The gilt dial provides warmth to the watch, and the crown and rectangular pushers further add to the vintage vibe. Tissot even took the trouble to add some patina to the date wheel! The case is 37.6mm diameter (without crown) and 12mm thick. There are some minor scuffs on the watch case, as expected from use. The watch currently comes on a custom-made chocolate vintage-styled strap (as shown), which is a short (110/70mm) strap. I do not have box or papers for this watch; the buckle is a plain steel buckle. The watch is running well and was serviced by my watchmaker in Nov 2016. The chronograph resets properly, and the watch is currently running at about +6 sec/day The watch is quite charming and wears well. The chocolate strap brings out the warmth of the gilt dial nicely, as you can see from the wrist shot. I’m selling this as part of a consolidation of the collection to focus on time-only watches, so this is a reluctant but necessary trimming.
