    Hi everybody,
wanted an Aqua Terra first, but at the AD my "I like it" didn't become an "I love it".
So I changed my mind, and found that Speedmaster 57 is very lovely. The one with the correct hour hand and without applied indices.
But, since I like changing straps, I have a question for you:
having a 20mm lugs, is it better a 20mm strap (as I think) or a 21mm strap, maybe with semi-curved springbars (as I doubt)? I ask it because I don't know if the curved s-b need an extra-millimeter of strap to fit correctly.
I photoshopped the result as this, borrowing the specter strap (by the way, what do you think about how this match?) Thanks

The 21mm strap will be too wide within the lug area and will look like it does not fit. I don't believe the curved spring bars will make any difference.

I talked my manager into this watch and then got him to get a depolyant and a brown calf strap.
The '57 is great and looks even better with lots of straps.

Question: the Spectre Seamaster 300 has 21 mm lugs but I think I've heard it comes with a nato strap 21,5mm. Am I wrong?

Yes, you're wrong. If a watch has a lug width of 21mm, you use a strap with a lug width of 21mm and in case of emergency, 22mm if 21mm is not available. There is furthermore no such thing as a 21,5mm NATO-strap, it's make-believe just as gremlins, unicorns and eskimoes.

In the pics the Spectre clearly uses curved spring bars. I assume it would help accommodate a wider strap. While I don't fully understand the question I haven't had any issues getting 22mm straps in between the 21mm lugs of the SM 300. That said I can't figure out why these knuckle heads didn't use 20 or 22mm lugs. I'll ask the AD for some curved bars for 22mm straps next time I"m in there.

I don't think the actual width of the strap is 21.5mm. I think Omega just labels it that way since the strap is intended for use on their 22 and 21mm lug width pieces.
As for your '57, use the 20/19mm strap. DO NOT get the 21.5 to use with it as there will be way too much extra material so you'll get a muffin top look by trying to squeeze the extra strap into the tight lugs.

Last summer I've bought an Omega nato strap for my POC, at an Omega Boutique.
POC has 22mm lugs, and I've discovered immediately, that the strap is narrower. Finally I've found out, that they made 21.5mm strap, so it would "fit" both 21 and 22mm lugs. In the end it doesn't fit perfect neither one.

I wouldn't buy a strap, that is not the same width as the lugs. It doesn't look good.

I've made a "review", with pictures also:

(sorry for linking to other forum)

Since last summer I think Omega corrected it, and now they are making the right size, and not trying to make one size fits all shit. (at least their webpage lists 4 different size)

Here are some photos of my 42mm PO with 20mm lugs on a 21.5mm Omega NATO strap. (I measured its width using a vernier caliper. It is in fact 21.5mm.)

One of the associates at the OB specifically recommended me to go with a 21-22mm strap instead of 19-20mm. He said a 19-20mm strap would be slightly narrower than the actual 20mm lug and thus it will show the end of the spring bars... As you can see in these photos, the strap just fits snugly and covers the entire length of the springs bars but no hang over the edge of the lugs.

As someone has posted already I think this particular watch looks great on a brown calf. Price would probably not be too much greater either given the cost of the Omega fabric.
