Tintin Mod Back from Service

A while back I had purchased a very nice Tintin dial from member @robinhook. I'd already been putting aside some gently used parts -- including a slightly scruffy donor 3594.50 -- in contemplation of a racing dial mod but decided to do the Tintin mod instead. I sent the watch and parts (dial, caseback, bezel, and a new service handset) out to TM Watch. They serviced the movement, swapped in my parts, installed a new Omega crystal, and changed the black paintfill on the caseback to red. The donor watch came on a 1498 bracelet which I replaced with a 1998 to get a little closer to the look of the original.

I'm pleased with the result:

Never thought about changing the caseback paint color. Interesting.

The 3594.50's are such a bargain. I actually like the medallion caseback with no writing that comes with the 3594.50 and kept it on my mod.

Still, yours came out well.

I bought the 3594.50 last year for about $2,500, which was just insane. I came this close to buying another one recently from a seller in Japan. It was dirt cheap, but the recently increased import duties (as charged by eBay) ruined the deal.

I went back and forth on the caseback. I like the sterile 3594.50 caseback, but finally decided I had to have the red lettering on the Tintin caseback. If I hadn’t already bought a “moon” caseback I’d probably have stuck with the no-writing medallion style.

Hi All, I'm looking for a Tintin Caseback. Do you know where I can buy one?

Since Omega has clamped down on these specialty parts except on an exchange basis, you will have a hard time finding a new one, or a used one. Best option is to just strip and repaint in red as done above.
