Tina Turner: legendary rock’n’roll singer dies aged 83
Funny you picked that one. I have Serious XM radio and on the ride in this AM they were playing all the Beatles tunes Tina played. There was quite a few and damn she could belt them out and make them her own. I also remember my mother going to see Tina and dragging my father along. My father pretty much hated everything but they had a beer tent so I think he ended up liking the show when he was good and lubricated.
Don’t want to take it off topic but BB king loved Ike’s playing and he was actually integral to the early scene. I’ve read stories of artists who jammed with him in his studio they spoke highly of him. Just sayin history gets lopsided sometimes Tina loved ike at one point, I don’t think cocaine and alcohol helped but he came up in an era where it was hard for an African American to get a fair shake in music.
Glad Tina got free and I hope those interviews I saw of ike expressing regret were sincere. The dude was not a horrible player
