Huh, that's really interesting...I feel stupid for saying this but the crown isn't at the usual position and that's cool!
Here’s my Timex from 1973. The cheap one along with several nice watches my grandfather gave to me in the 1980s. Timex are inexpensive watches but some had a nice aesthetic.
There are some real Timex bargains out there both wind and auto . And as has been said before the new Marlin fits every bodies collection and pocket . But keep it quite so we can snap up the bargains !
I’m not home right now, so I can’t show you my only Timex. The Timex Electric was introduced in (IIRC) 1959 to 1961 era. Mine is an example of the original Timex Electric. I liberated it out of a waste paper basket when the owner turfed it. The movement in these early Timex Electrics was made in Germany, by Durowe. Example of the movement shown. It is also (IMO) vastly superior to any in-house Timex Electric that they ever introduced (excepting quartz). These watches sold for under $50.00 at the time. They came on a faux leather strap. http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&2&2uswk&Durowe_861 IMO, this Durowe movement was vastly superior to the Hamilton Electric. After close to 60 years, mine runs better than my Hamilton Electrics.
A uncommonly seen 1963 M74....21j.....excuse the scratched crystal M74 rotor M72 showing ruby pins on pallet fork
