Neat classic reissued/reimagined piece. Looking forward to see if they do more like this. 917F341B-2455-4296-86EA-96151B7E3333.png

Hard to say. Newish movement that may not be built for service.

They put that movement in the Todd Snyder military watch and they've got a winner

I dont have any idea about how to identify fake vintages.. even after reading some of the “how tos...”.
I don’t even know the meaning of lots of jargons being used here( see where I am coming from :-D). Just had to google GLFS coz in one of the sale posts lot of people were putting it at the end of their post and thats when I grew suspicious as till now i thought may be it is the guy’s signature :).

If you're interested in the hobby of vintage watch collecting, Timex watches are a great place to start learning. They are inexpensive to purchase (and therefore, rarely faked) and easy to find.

But, as with many hobbies, you should read up on the hobby before you jump in. Most vintage watch collectors strive to find watches that have not been altered since they left the factory 30, 40, 50 years ago. Although this forum is called "Omega Forums," there are many threads written by experienced collectors that coach beginners on what to look for in a vintage watch (of any brand) and what to avoid.

    Start with these threads:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/learning-how-to-fish-the-under-50-collection.67807/
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/condition-condition-condition-and-other-pieces-of-advice.1716/

Here are a couple posts featuring vintage Timex:
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/something-fun-in-the-very-affordable-range.66120/
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/i-know-this-is-an-omega-forum-but-timex.65880/
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/wruw-today.567/page-3981#post-797248

Once you understand the basics, look for websites and watch forums that focus on vintage Timex.
    Here's one: http://www.network54.com/Forum/102266
There you will learn about the details of certain models and how to tell if a watch suffered the passage of time, or is pristine. Soon, you'll develop and eye for vintage Timex, and vintage watches in general. And then the fun begins!

Yes it's an important watch. A sign that a very successful and iconic brand may be returning to its roots. Agree on the Todd Snyder military comment. I keep one in my gym bag. It's cool but would be cooler as a mechanical.

I’d have appreciated and agreed only if Timex used its own movement inside the watch that was made in USA!
Made in China on the Watch was a big dampener for me. By reducing only as a marketing company for this watch took away the importance of renaissance in mechanical watches at Timex IMO.

Yea but a USA 100% produced movement is a dream still and not at this price point. Let’s see what Timex does.

Shinola now has US “made” automatic movements built from Swiss kits.

Not for 200 bucks. Shinola gets props for contributing to rebirth of Detroit though. Company that comes closest to 100% US made is RGM and they still incorporate Swiss parts because no one makes em here.
