I dont think I am the only one spending way to much time looking and reading about watches::shy::
In my defence, I always tend to do my research when buying or selling a watch wich is something good right?:)
    Ok, here the madness goes:

I spend quite a lot of time on various forums and instagram etc. Usually when my wife has something on the tv I don’t want to watch (most of it).

Uhhhh. Too much. But not as much as a typical teenager on their phone.

I often look at this site even when what’s on TV is something I do want to watch ::shy:: But as all of us here know, once this bug has grabbed you you’re pretty much all in!

I only drop by a couple different sites here & there. Lately, I've made the rounds 2 or 3 times a day because of some extra free time, only to find the same repetitive crap like "Should I buy this?" over & over. If you need a bunch of strangers to help you make up your mind on a watch that costs several thousand dollars, you have issues deeper than merely owning a few too many watches.

I've pretty much always been a "Watch Whore" so now that I'm retired I've got plenty of time to look around ::facepalm2::

Is this this hobby or an addiction :whipped:

Oh absolutely! I have learned a huge amount about watches from OF. Although admittedly, I came to this site with very low knowledge to begin with, so I had (and still have) a lot to learn.

In my case, I like to do some research. Like I did whenI started the tread about the Niba and her Evil Sister. The answers there did not completly made up my mind but I did get som help:)
But I know what you mean. Some random guy who has no clue and wants to buy his first watch and has this budget.. boring I kniw but at least we can try and lead them to a good buy that will give him satisfaction for a long time;)

Too much. My wife never gives me static for watches I buy. A lot of times she not only encourages me but kicks in (I love that woman) but she does get onto me, more like makes fun of me, for all the time I spend reading and watching videos.

Imagine what it sounds like to a non watch person hearing some dude sitting in his living room drone on and on for 20 minutes about the meticulous detail of what basically amounts to a piece of jewelry...now I need to go flex in front of her so she sees me as manly again.;)

My wife really hates it when I loose myself to the world of watches. She knows that it will only be this ”bad” for a few weeks and then back to the normal 1-2 hours a day::shy::

You buy the watch you want, scratch that itch, and back to normal.

Look sweetheart, there are far worse things I could be looking at on the internet for 1-2 hours a day :whistling:

In researching an Omega watch 5 years ago, I first found the sub-forum for Omega at the Rolex forum. Then I found OF. Then WUS. Then TZ-UK. In the last year, I haven't logged onto Rolex, TZ-UK, or WUS. I continue to enjoy OF for what it is, and on average, log in 5 or 6 times a week. Sometimes for a few minutes, and sometimes for more. It's a great forum with eclectic, funny, and knowledgable contributors. It's time well spent and I enjoy thoroughly.

I know my time is way up the last month or two as I research my next purchase or purchases. I’m also new here, and I am quite impressed with the knowledge and information available on OF. I never thought I’d be interested in a vintage piece, because my tastes are generally for 40-42mm sized pieces, but I’m far more open to the idea after spending time on the site.
