My guess: seller probably realized their pricing error during the frenzy and someone came in and threw down what it was really worth.

 

Do you mean to say that if the seller was talking to one person about the watch at $8K and someone called on the other line and said they'd pay $30K for it the seller would terminate the first caller?

Let's just say I actually called them up immediately when the damn "sold out" sign came out.

Tried my darnedest to offer more. Japanese dude tells me "SOLD OUT SOLD OUT".

That one will push $18-20K if sold correctly. Beautiful example / amazing luck for whoever snagged it (if someone did).

 

There's no way that watch sold for 6k USD. The selller was just pulling at your heartstrings for fun.
