722EF42D-B5C2-4B78-A847-A427CCCBDE24.jpeg The all time classic, the Gold and the 50th...
Well, the classic, made for so many years almost unchanged speaks for itself.
    The Gold 50th, mesmerizing
The ss 50th, although finely executed, especially the backcase, the left subdial is a tad too much. Also the bracelet Is not really in my taste... Very similar to the trilogy but thinner.... and next to the gold....
    What do you think?
    Cheers

Very subjective. I would argue a Speedmaster with tritium is more of a classic than a super-lume model. The gold 50th is the show-stopper for me, although I would rather have one of the originals. And the regular 50th? It is okay for what it is, but definitely not in my top 3-5 Speedmaster LE picks (which is why I passed on it). They are all nice watches, but there will be varying perspectives on whether or not these three are the best of the last 60 years of Speedmasters.

For me, it would be the classic. Not a fan of gold and the ss 50th, with the left sundial detracts from the watch.

The Classic is a classic for a reason.

Totally agree. From a design perspective, almost nothing that could be added or subtracted to improve the aesthetics.

Love the classic, like the gold, indifferent about the 50th. I appreciate all of them. The gold is alluring and draws you in. I’d rather have the original however. The 50th is fine to look at. But I don’t see myself ever wearing it. For 10k I’d rather find a 105.012 or 145.012 transitional and continue to beat it up.

I'm lucky to be getting the full gold and stainless steel 50th anniversary models. However, the more I think about it the more I reckon just the gold will suffice. What was your thinking behind getting both?

The classic for sure. The gold version is cool, though, and generally I don't even like gold watches. But it has something to it. The 50th SS ... I'd really like it (love that bracelet) if they could have controlled themselves and binned that silly subdial. If they just had to put something on there, I think the footprint would have been 100 times better. But as it is, neither of these 50th watches, in terms of pure appearance (and disregarding cost, speculative future value, exclusivity etc.) is in my top five Speedmasters. I'd take the trilogy version (no space connection, I know) over either of them every day of the week from a pure looks standpoint. All down to personal taste, obviously. But especially the SS model, they quite easily could have done better.

I don’t like gold watches so much either...
But this one has a totally different feel and look. I guess that you have to see it up close...

Hey don't get me wrong, I DO like the gold version. It has real history to it and it is something different, I think it looks good. It just doesn't crack my top 5 on looks, that's all. Doesn't matter, I can't afford it, anyway LOL

For me the best is the 69 Gold since they were given to the moon walkers, and this 50th Gold is a close second.

I am torn on the SS 50th. I'd like to have an Apollo 11 LE, and prefer either the 35th or 45th design, but this is the 50th Anniversary and costs the same or less than the other 2 in general in today's market. I guess I'll decide whenever I get the OB call.

I wish Omega made the classic look like the 105.012-65 and sells it as "the Moonwatch that looks the same since it was first worn on the moon". Better yet, they can add a numbered edition with the cal 321 and sells it as "the Moonwatch that is basically the same since it was first worn on the moon" - but what do I know about marketing ...

The Stainless steel 50th needs to be admired in the metal...

(I was skeptical at first, but did commit to buy it today...)

For me it's just the Buzzdial that kills it. It's frustrating that it's that simple, but it is. If that subdial was the same as the other two, I'd never have uttered a peep of disappointment about this watch.

The 50th Gold is up there near the top of my list not only amongst Speedmasters but all watches. I think it’s watch of the year at the very least. Let’s see what time does to it.

Am kinda in same boat. I have both on order.

But the more i think about it, the more i think i should just get the gold.

It would just appear like am getting the steel just because ...

But am not cancelling any order yet. Stranger things have happened. Will wait till the watches actually arrive before i finally decide.

Not much to say about the standard Moonwatch. It belongs in every sports watch collection.

The gold 50th is such a great tribute to the ‘69 goldie. It reminds me of a Singer 911 - modern technology with classic beauty.

The steel 50th is a disappointment to me. I appreciate the new movement, the grey dial and the bracelet, but I just can’t accept the Buzz subdial. Even though I had set aside funds to acquire another Speedmaster this year, I never came close to being tempted by this watch.

The caseback footprint should have been on the subdial and the buzz butt on the caseback, that would have changed things for many. ;)

The gold looks nice, but I'm not wearing gold..

The classic is a classic, for me "t" is a magnet..

The new one? I don't really care.
