Even before I became a University Lecturer in 'Design & Creativity' .....I have always been drawn to enduring, tactile, functional design.... that crucially, is also aesthetically pleasing

These are not my favorite possesions......but they are on my list of superlative 20th Century designs,...... the examples are also evenly spaced 30 years appart

1939 Walther PPK, Zella Mehlis factory,..... ( Design originally marketed in 1930 )

    1969 Speedmaster 145.022......( Obviously !)

    1999 Dunhill Silver Torpedo ballpoint

Image originally taken with a 1959 Hasselbald 500c ( also on the list )

Bill, it looks great and I am envious of your McIntosh speakers. I have an old McIntosh 1700 amp/radio; people are always blown away by the quality of the sound that comes from a fifty year old, 40 watt per channel receiver.

Icono, that is a beautiful PPK, do you feel like James Bond when you carry it?

You should pick up something to replace the lamp cord for speaker cables at the show. ;)

    Mono? Where's the other loudspeaker?

Does Ohm still produce the funky travelling wave Walsh driver?

I never carry it.....it was comprehensively & sympathetically, deactivated in the 1990's, and is now a just a beautifully crafted, paperweight in my study

I have fired one, whilst in the army ( bit prone to 'slide bite' )......and as a side arm, I preferred the standard Hi Power

You'd think the watch would be a vintage sub. But I like it. Can't follow the norm!

I have a PP from WWII with the Wermacht markings, couldn't agree more about the timelessness of great design!

Just sold my AR-5 speakers after 45 years, the Queen wore me down about the size.

Very nice that your hobbies all nest nicely together!

Were you at the DC show this past weekend?
